2010-2011
This past season saw the advent of the boys program and diving on the girls team. The girls swim team also achieved many "firsts" with the "first" meet win against Perryville; the "first" relay win; and the "first" all-conference relay team. All of the swimmers also achieved personal growth and success. This was especially true with the girls team where 71%of the girls team received conference honors. This is the highest percentage of any school in conference! All of this success is built upon the foundation of swimmers that did not swim competitively before swimming for Saxony. So even if you have NO experience swimming competitively there is a place for you on the team and a chance to succeed! To keep track of the teams and get more information about the teams including summer programs, Summer League, camps, clinics and open-swim/gyms visit the Edline Swim page.
The boys team is a fall sport with practice beginning in August. Swimmers interested in the boys team are encouraged, but not required, to swim with a Summer League Team this summer. At this time there are no try-outs for the team and all athletes are welcome.
The girls team is a winter sport with practices beginning in November. Swimmers are also encouraged, but not required, to swim with a Summer League Team this summer. There are no try-outs for the team but much of the success that the team has seen is due to commitment of the swimmers to train in the off-season. Members of the team swim local swim teams, train and compete in triathlons or participate in fall and spring sports during the off-season.
There truly is NO BENCH IN SWIMMING as all swimmers of all ability train and compete at all of our meets! There is a place for you on the team!
